How To Gain Google Visibility.

Google is the most used search engine currently.

Oftentimes we do some Google searches of our favourite celebrities and famous people we know. Some people also look for random information about people and others go as far as searching for their own names on Google. Have you done such a thing? Yes, I guess. 

Well, you aren't alone, I became an active Internet user and internet enthusiast in the year 2020, then I will make searches on how to make money online and any blog post I come across that speaks on making money online, I do take note of the blogger and run an authentication check on the person by using Google. I often read reviews about such people from sources online and with time, I began to develop interest in my name popping up on Google searches.

I made some mistakes while trying to make my name appear on Google search results and in this article, I will be telling you what to do to ensure that your name comes up on search engines results.

Choose A Name/Brand.

This is the very first step. There are two options for you here; it's either you use your personal real name or you use your brand name.

After deciding on the name you wish to be identified with, make sure you stick to that name, it must align with your Google Account name, social media platform handles and everything you do.

This is why, it must be your real name, in your offline and online presence, that name must be linked to you

Now, one thing you must know, especially if you are using your name, is that there can be others who bear the same name as you. After deciding on if you are to use your name(it can even be your nickname) run a Google check on the name to see how many results you can see that matches your chosen name. Search Engines are keyword sensitive which means you will surely get a result, it now depends on the number of matching results you get. The idea is to use a name that won't confuse people and stand out easily. Which is why I will advise you to use your FULL NAME. It will be hard to see someone else who bears your exact full name.

Own a Blog.

Owning a blog is one of the fastest ways you can increase your online visibility. 

Some people think that doing such is expensive, well, you can own a free blog site, you just have to maintain it and do good SEO to ensure its contents comes up in search engines results alongside your name.

With just a Google Account, you can get a Google Blogger site and even set up Adsense to earn with your site.

Review Apps.

This sounds foreign and kind of weird, but it actually works, and helps in increasing your online visibility.

How does this work?

Those apps you use a lot, Go to your application store and search for those apps, write a great and honest review about the apps. One mistake people do while reviewing apps is letting their emotions do the review for them. Even if you don't like the Apps, don't use vague words, state the things the Apps do well, what it doesn't do well and proffer solutions you think will help in improving the App. Don't forget to thank the developers, it wasn't easy.

People who wish to download Apps, tend to find great reviews useful and will tap the button that lets them say if they found a review helpful. By doing so, the name associated with your Google or Apple Account is ranked higher on search engines results. 

It happens in two ways, 

When your name is typed in a search.

When the name of that application is searched.

I actually noticed this two days ago and ever since then, I have been giving great and honest reviews on Apps.

Maximum Use Of Social Media.

It's not a new thing that social media platforms always want their users to use their real names as their handles, this is so because they want people to be able to identify themselves easily.

Well, using your real name or brand name on social media will also help in boosting your search engines visibility. Twitter and Instagram are two social media platforms that their usernames tend to always come up in search engines results.

Post consistently there also. Your engagements don't necessarily matter.

Posting On Forums.

Forums and blogs are a great way of boosting your online presence.

Make out a niche for yourself, a niche that aligns with what you want people to see when they search for you, they don't even have to search for your name, they can search for your niche and your name will pop up, then they can go further to start searching for your name. 

Imagine, someone who wants to start Affiliate Marketing and searches for it on Google, then the name of Toyin Omotosho shows in several blogs/sites what do you think the person will do? He or she will definitely want to know more about Toyin Omotosho, isn't it?

There are lots of forums to post in, Quora, Nairaland, Reddit, StackOverflow, Medium and lots of them. Just choose the one you want.
